Description
Heavy-Duty Variable Frequency Drive for Medium-Scale Solar Water Pumping Systems
System Working Principle
The SWP inverter is installed between the photovoltaic array and the AC water pump.
During daylight, PV modules generate DC electricity, which is fed directly into the inverter. The inverter applies MPPT algorithms to optimize power extraction and converts DC into variable-frequency AC power to drive the pump.
As solar irradiance changes, the inverter automatically adjusts pump speed to maintain stable operation. When sunlight is insufficient, the system safely reduces output or stops operation, preventing dry running and mechanical damage.
Typical Application Scenarios
- Agricultural irrigation systems
- Rural and remote village water supply
- Livestock watering projects
- Reservoir filling and water transfer systems
- Solar-powered pumping for farms, plantations, and desert regions
This power range is especially suitable for large irrigation areas and high-head pumping projects.
Q1: What types of pumps are compatible?
A: The inverter supports most three-phase centrifugal and submersible water pumps within the rated power range.
Q2: Does the system work without batteries?
A: Yes. The SWP-H Series is designed for direct solar pumping, eliminating battery cost and maintenance.
Q3: How does the inverter protect the pump when water runs out?
A: Dry-run protection detects abnormal load conditions and automatically stops the pump to prevent damage.
Q4: Can the system be monitored remotely?
A: Yes. RS485 communication enables integration with monitoring or data-logging systems.
Q5: Is this suitable for harsh outdoor environments?
A: The inverter is designed for wide temperature ranges and continuous operation in demanding solar pumping conditions (recommended installation in ventilated cabinets).
