JNTech recently successfully deployed a microgrid energy storage system on the remote Bangladeshi island of Bhashanchar. This significant project, designed to provide a stable and sustainable power supply to factories on the island, demonstrates JNTech’s commitment to providing specialized, resilient energy solutions in the face of significant environmental challenges.
Densely populated Bangladesh faces significant power infrastructure challenges, particularly in remote islands and rural areas where power grids are unstable and outages are frequent. For factories on Bhashanchar Island, a stable power supply is a lifeline. However, the island’s unique geographical location presents a significant obstacle. Bhashanchar Island, a newly formed, low-lying silt island in the Bay of Bengal, is highly susceptible to the region’s severe weather. It is susceptible to tropical cyclones, strong tides, and severe flooding, with much of the island submerged during the monsoon season. These extreme conditions present significant challenges for a robust and reliable power solution.
JNTech technicians maintained close communication with the client throughout the project and provided technical guidance and training services on-site throughout the construction process.
We went beyond simple product delivery to provide a comprehensive, full-lifecycle solution for the Bashanshaer project:
Rigorous Preliminary Survey and Solution Design:
Comprehensive Site Analysis: JNTech technical team first conducted an in-depth analysis of Bashanshaer’s specific wind, solar, and meteorological data. Crucially, we fully considered the island’s low-lying, variable topography and its susceptibility to tidal and seasonal flooding.
In-depth Stakeholder Engagement: We also conducted detailed consultations with the client to fully understand the plant’s power needs, operating model, and future expansion plans, ensuring a precise solution fit.
Expert Design and Client Empowerment: During the design phase, we went beyond simply providing a system overview. We also provided the client with professional training courses covering grid knowledge, equipment selection, and site survey methods. This ensured a clear and professional understanding of the entire project.
Precise Technical Implementation and Economic Analysis:
Multi-Energy Integration: The system design leverages our expertise in wind, solar, and storage microgrids, efficiently integrating a 100kWp solar PV system with a powerful 516kWh battery energy storage system (BESS) to maximize renewable energy utilization.
Locally Tailored Array Layout: Based on local meteorological conditions and topography, we precisely determined the PV array layout, tilt angle, and mounting method to ensure maximum power generation efficiency and structural integrity in strong wind conditions.
Optimized Energy Storage Capacity: We precisely tailored the energy storage capacity based on actual power generation and load requirements, ensuring the battery system maintains excellent service life under long-term, high-frequency cycling.
Economic Feasibility: We provided a comprehensive system equipment list and economic analysis report, demonstrating the project’s significant value through power generation data, an interpretation of local subsidy policies, and a balanced comparison of cost investment and long-term returns.
Safety, Construction, and Operations: Our design encompasses a rigorous fire safety plan, a detailed construction organization plan (taking into account on-site logistics and transportation challenges), staffing, engineering management, and long-term operations and maintenance planning. We also provide customers with professional training in environmental protection, labor safety, and industrial hygiene to ensure flawless project implementation and sustained safe operation.
